Jackson County Mayor Randy Heady has passed away after a battle with colon cancer. He was 61.  Heady served as mayor of Jackson County since April 2018.  He was  a pastor at New Hope Baptist Church for 28 years.  On his Facebook page, Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster called Heady a “dear friend and a friend to all of the Upper Cumberland” who “touched the lives of so many with his kindness, dedication, and faith in God.”  Governor Bill Lee, Senator Paul Bailey, Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter, former Cookeville Mayor Ricky Shelton and Representative John Rose were among the many elected officials to express their condolences.
