Trey Kerley Cumberland County Register of Deeds has issued a warning about a scam letter received by multiple people that falsely claims there has been a deed of transfer on their property. The letter appears to be from the Clerk’s Property Office in Nashville and instructs the recipient to send $89 to the Clerk’s Property Office in Florida to obtain a copy of their recorded deed. This is a scam. The Register of Deeds will never send you a letter requesting payment of any kind. If you have any questions, please contact the Cumberland County Register of Deeds at (931) 484-5559.
