Legendary broadcaster Steve Randel Trevena, “The Voice of the Jets”, was honored Tuesday night (2/11/2025) at Cumberland County High School for his more than 40 years of outstanding play-by-play for CCHS football and basketball.
Trevena graduated from Maplewood High School in Nashville in the top 5 percent of his class in 1978. He was also a member of the National Honors Society. After attending the Nashville School of Broadcasting, he began his career in radio in 1982 as Sports Director and Announcer at WIZO Radio in Franklin, Tennessee.
In 1984, Trevena left Nashville and moved to Crossville where he continued his radio career with local stations Crossville Radio Inc., Peg Broadcasting and now Main Street Media.
Steve Randel Trevena’s first CCHS radio play-by-play broadcast for the Jets was in February of 1984, so this month will mark 41 years of broadcasting excellence as “The Voice of the Jets”!
Trevena’s colleagues and fans celebrate his legacy and the many more stories he will share.
