Authorities say a man found deceased in a Putnam County field last week possibly died by suicide. The body of James Russell Solomon was found last Wednesday evening (February 26, 2023) by a property owner on Rodgers Cemetery Road in the Baxter community. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division found a suicide note near the gravesite of Mr. Solomon’s family member at Rodgers Cemetery. Initial findings from the Medical Examiner show the most likely cause of death to be suicide from ingesting an unknown toxic substance.
