A retired Knoxville Fire Department Captain is dead after he was reportedly accidentally shot Wednesday evening (March 5, 2025). Dennis Noe, age 60, was fatally shot as he was driving a pickup truck on I-640 West in Knoxville. Police say there were two people in the backseat of the truck who were handling a gun that went off. Noe was hit and was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at UT Medical Center. The investigation is ongoing. (Photo courtesy Knoxville Fire Department.)
