Scott County Sheriff’s Office Press Release Wednesday March 19, 2025:
Former Scott County law enforcement employee Tommy Ray Duncan has pleaded guilty on March 3, 2025, to five of six charges, including rape and the continuous abuse of a child, while one charge was dismissed. He has been sentenced to 40 years in prison. This major development comes three years after Duncan was indicted by a Scott County grand jury for the second-degree murder of his wife, April Duncan, 34.
April Duncan, a respected deputy sheriff and school resource officer (SRO) at Scott High School, was deeply committed to her work and the students she served. Her tragic death in January 2022 was initially investigated as a suicide.
