Cumberland County’s February Unemployment Rate Falls Below 5 Percent

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development announced Thursday (4/3/2025) that Cumberland County’s February unemployment rate fell 0.8 percent from January’s rate of 5.3 percent to 4.5 percent.  It was also down 0.2 percent for the year.

Unemployment rates dropped in 88 of Tennessee’s 95 counties with Williamson County reporting the lowest unemployment rate for the month at 2.6 percent.  Cocke County recorded the state’s highest unemployment rate for February at 6.6 percent.

Tennessee’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has remained steady at 3.7% for six consecutive months. The national rate in February was 4.1%.
