A Putnam County 12th grade student has been charged after a gun was found in his vehicle Thursday morning (April 3, 2025) while it at Monterey High School.
A 9mm Taurus was discovered in a white Honda Civic after the high school alerted authorities of suspicious activity in their parking lot and requested that the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office deploy their K-9s for random vehicle checks.
The driver of the Civic, 18-year-old Nicholas Black, was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon on School Property. Black has a bond set at $50,000 and a court date of May 19, 2025.
