Bill to Invalidate Out-of-State Undocumented Immigrants Driver’s Licenses Headed to Governor Bill Lee’s Desk

The Tennessee Senate has passed a bill that would invalidated the driver’s licenses of out-of-state undocumented immigrants. Senate Bill 1086, “As introduced, creates the Class B misdemeanor offense of operating a motor vehicle in this state with an invalid driver license; designates out-of-state driver licenses issued exclusively to illegal aliens as invalid driver licenses in this state.”  Violators face up to 6 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $500.  The bill now heads to Governor Bill Lee’s desk. It would would go into effect on Jan. 1, 2026.
