Crossville Man Victim of Identity Theft

A Crossville resident lost over $8,000 after falling victim to identity theft, according to Cumberland County Sheriff Deputies. A resident of Ridley Drive reported receiving nearly 400 spam text messages before discovering an unauthorized check for $4,510 on his bank account. While reporting the theft at his bank, he learned another $4,200 had been withdrawn by an unknown person in California. The bank confirmed an unknown suspect had the victim’s personal information. The account has since been closed, and the case remains under investigation in Cumberland County.
