Cookeville Police Department Press Release 4/12/2025:
On Friday, April 11, 2025, at approximately 7:52 PM, Cookeville Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of Get Axed, located at 768 South Jefferson Avenue. Officers arrived on scene within one minute of the call and located one adult male victim with apparent gunshot wounds. The suspect was detained at the scene without incident, and officers immediately rendered aid to the victim.
The victim, identified as 34-year-old, Ashton Bohannon was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The suspect, identified as a 22-year-old was detained and later interviewed by detectives. Following a preliminary investigation, no charges have been filed at this time.
