CCHS French students continue a longstanding tradition of academic excellence in the humanities with their scores on the 2025 Grand Concours National French Exam. They have been given national recognition by the American Association of Teachers of French.

Daisy Ayala-Martinez and Zachary Sapp were named “Lauréat National” for the third year in a row, this time for the advanced year 3 exam.  Daisy was awarded a national silver medal, while Zachary won a bronze medal, putting both students in the very top percentiles nationally, competing against public, private, homeschool, and international baccalaureate school students nationwide.  Their scores at this level make them eligible for a lottery of prizes from the AATF, including a chance a drawing a scholarship for their efforts.

Additionally, earning the “Mention Honorable” distinction, several students scored in the top 25-50% nationwide.  These students are Carolyn Hulburt, Kayle Hodges, Colton Huling, and Natalie Tayes for the year 2 exam, Anderson Hassler for the year 3 exam, and Diego Ayala-Martinez for the year 1 exam.
