Putnam County Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

A traffic stop in Putnam County Friday afternoon (April 25, 2025) resulted in drug charges against the driver.  Derick Kiner was pulled over for a window tint violation and failure to maintain lane. A search of his vehicle reportedly revealed a large amount of U.S. currency that was bundled in a manner consistent with drug activity.

A search of Kiner’s residence reportedly turned up about 5 ounces of cocaine, digital scales, a handgun, a rifle, ammunition, and more bundled cash totaling approximately $118,000.

Derick Kiner was booked into the Putnam County Jail and charged with Manufacture, Sell, Delivery of Cocaine and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Kiner’s bond was set at $500,000 and his court date is June 9th.  (Press release courtesy PCSO.)
