No criminal charges will be filed after a dog was dragged to death in Bledsoe County.
On April 15, 2025, shortly before 9 pm, Bledsoe County 911 Center received a call about a vehicle pulling a dog tied to a vehicle. The responding officer with the Pikeville Police Department did not make contact with the vehicle at the time of the initial call.
After further investigation it was found that the incident did originate inside Bledsoe County and the Sheriff’s Department says it conducted a thorough investigation including interviewing all parties involved, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing all video evidence.
It has been determined that this was a tragic accident. Unfortunately the dog was deceased but there was no criminal intent shown during this act. At this point, this investigation has been concluded and in collaboration with the District Attorney’s office there will be no criminal charges filed for any party involved.
