A high-speed chase on Interstate 40 ended with the arrest of two men and the seizure of over three pounds of suspected methamphetamine, along with heroin, marijuana, Xanax pills, and cash. Deputy Richardson initiated the pursuit after observing suspicious driving behavior and learning the vehicle’s owner had a revoked license and a warrant. The chase reached speeds of 115 MPH before spike strips deployed by Crossville Police successfully stopped the car near mile marker 317. Driver Chris Goodman, 50 of Philadelphia, Tennessee and passenger Davon Florey, 35 of Sweetwater, Tennessee were taken into custody without incident. Authorities recovered drugs believed to be intended for resale and $462 in cash; the substances will be tested by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
