Drivers traveling on State Route 298/Genesis Road in Cumberland County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will impact traffic. Starting Monday morning, May 12 (2025), Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will close Genesis Road near Catoosa Canyon Drive for roughly four months to complete the construction of a small drainage structure and retaining walls. The posted detour will be State Route 62/Nashville Highway and State Route 28/US 127.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution and avoid the area if at all possible. Uniformed police officers will be present to assist with traffic control and law enforcement.
