The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security says more than 3 million Tennesseans have obtained a REAL ID ahead of the May 7th federal implementation date. Almost 3 million licensed drivers in the Volunteer State have not.
REAL ID credentials are now required for boarding commercial flights or entering some federal facilities.
REAL IDs are available at any Driver Services Center and there is no cutoff for when a Tennessee resident can apply for one. Learn more at tnrealid.gov.
