A man suspected of shooting an employee at the Nashville Rescue Mission multiple times Sunday afternoon is now dead.

The TBI says 29-year-old Tadarius Milan Hunt was killed Monday morning during a shootout with police.  Hunt reportedly fired several shots, grazing one of the officers in the leg.  At least two officers returned fire, striking Hunt, who subsequently died.

The 44-year-old rescue mission employee went into surgery Monday morning at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  Nashville Rescue Mission posted on Facebook that Cedrick Wilson is recovering and remains in good spirits.

At this time, the TBI investigation is ongoing.
