The Crossville City Council on Tuesday night approved the first reading of the city’s fiscal year 2025-26 budget and tax rate with no proposed changes. The property tax rate remains at .6059 cents per $100 of assessed value. Council unanimously approved the rate on first reading. The proposed general fund budget totals $34.5 million, balanced against projected revenues of $34.6 million. Among the capital projects planned for the upcoming fiscal year are $2.6 million to complete Fire Station 2 and $1.45 million for the remodel of Fire Station 1. Both measure must pass two more readings prior to July 1st.
