The May 2025 meeting of the Cumberland County Commission was held with all commissioners present except for Potter, York, Shanks, and Sherrill. The meeting began on a high note with special recognition for Abby Grace Lowe, a student at Cumberland County High School and the granddaughter of County Commissioner Terry Lowe. Abby was recently elected President of the Tennessee State Association of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). In honor, the Commission proudly presented Abby with a Certificate of Achievement. “The youth of Cumberland County continue to demonstrate exceptional leadership and talent,” County Mayor Allen Foster said. “Some of my proudest moments as mayor come when we have the opportunity to honor them.” Abby’s accomplishment highlights the strong tradition of student leadership and community involvement in Cumberland County.
