Crossville Mayor RJ Crawford placed a proposal for a city run Emergency Medical Service on next week’s regular session of the Crossville City Council. The idea was first presented by Councilmember Dr. Mark Fox who proposed a city operated ambulance service to be run out of the fire department by July 1st, 2026. Challenges to the proposal include operating costs and reimbursement rates from insurance. According to Crossville Finance Director, Nathan Clouse, there is the potential for up to a 30-cent increase in property taxes to keep the service running. Council will vote on the matter next Tuesday, June 10th at 6 pm for their regular session.
