The Renaissance Hotel in Nashville was evacuated early Tuesday morning after a fire broke out in the connected parking garage. Metro Fire was called to the 2-alarm blaze around 2 am. Explosions could be heard as several cars burned and a portion of the parking garage collapsed at 6th and Commerce Street. The Nashville Public Library across from the hotel was closed Tuesday as crews worked the scene and investigated the cause of the fire. The Renaissance Hotel is back to normal operations and welcoming guests.
