The June 2025 meeting of the Cumberland County Commission opened with resident Craig Clark delivering an emotional thank you to Cumberland County’s Emergency Medical Services team. Clark, who recently suffered a heart attack at his home, credited new cardiac monitors for helping emergency responders quickly detect the issue and transmit critical data to Cumberland Medical Center before he even left his driveway. The early diagnosis enabled the hospital’s cardiac team to prepare for immediate intervention, ultimately saving his life with the placement of five stents. “Because of this technology and the incredible team behind it, I’m standing here today,” Clark said. County officials emphasized that investments in advanced EMS equipment reflect an ongoing commitment to public health and emergency preparedness.
