Officials with Fairfield Glade Community Club say a tree-clearing error at the site of a planned emergency services building was the result of miscommunication. According to the board, a contractor exceeded the approved scope of work, leading to the removal of more trees than originally planned.
The issue came to light after a property owner questioned why the site off Peavine Road had been clear-cut. Club leadership confirmed that subcontractor coordination had contributed to the misunderstanding. “A mistake was made, and that has been addressed,” said General Manager Bill Ward.
The site will house the new main fire station for Fairfield Glade Fire Department, replacing the current location on Peavine Road. Emergency medical service quarters will also be included. Officials say landscaping plans have been updated and tree replanting has already begun.
