Crossville City Council approves out of city sewer connection

In a 3-2 vote, the Crossville City Council approved a variance to allow a sewer connection outside of the city limits. The owner of a Foxfire Road property made the request after purchasing the property about a month after a new ordinance that requires annexation for sewer service if it is feasible. While the property is adjacent to existing city limits, the property owner reports that they were told they could connect by paying a tap fee and buying a grinder pump, but did not wish to be annexed. Mayor Pro-tem Art Gernt and Mayor RJ Crawford voted against the measure.
