Longtime Crossville businessman Edward “Ed” Jones has passed away. He was 75. According to Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Sparta, Mr. Jones died Saturday, July 23, 2025. Ed Jones Texaco on West Avenue, which would later become Ed Jones Automotive and Service Station, has been a prominent feature of the Crossville city landscape for decades. Mr. Jones owned and operated the business for 55 years before retiring. In addition to repairing vehicles, Ed loved watching the Vols play football, and his family. Ed Jones is survived by his children Miranda (Ryan) Hurd, and Jeff (Melissa) Jones. Grandchildren: Michael Hurd and Emily Cope.
