Drivers traveling along South Jefferson Avenue in Cookeville will encounter road construction activities that will impact traffic. As part of the 2.3-mile project to widen and improve State Route 136 from I-40 to State Route 111, Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will implement lane closures on Jefferson Avenue in both directions near the I-40 interchange through October 31, 2025.
