A Rickman man has been charged in connection to a double homicide that occurred Sunday morning (9/21/2025) in Overton County. Twenty-seven-year-old Payton Wayne Nations has been charged with two counts of First Degree Murder in the shooting deaths of 25-year-old Isaiah Thomas Hawkins and 43-year-old Christina Denise Hawkins. Their bodies were found outside a residence in the 100 block of Freeman Drive in Rickman. Sunday evening, Nations was arrested in Putnam County by the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to the Overton County Jail, where he was booked on a $40 million bond.
