After an outpouring of citizen opposition and a report from Crossville Finance Director Nathan Clouse, the Crossville City Council in special session on Tuesday, voted 3-2 to rescind last month’s motion establishing a city run ambulance service. Council later approved a motion by Mayor RJ Crawford to put the matter to a referendum in November 2026, giving council members time to further study the costs and potential property tax impacts of a city operated service.
