Tennessee has dedicated two new state parks this week (Oct. 20-21, 2025); the roughly 7,800 acre Fiery Gizzard State Park in Grundy and Marion counties, and the over 4,200 acre Head of the Crow State Park in Franklin County. Both parks were once part of South Cumberland State Park, as was the 19,000 acre Savage Gulf State Park in Grundy and Sequatchie counties. According to tnstateparks.com, Tennessee now has 62 unique parks.
