The Piney Volunteer Fire Department in Van Buren County was dispatched to Fall Creek Falls State Park after 2pm Saturday (Nov. 1. 2025) for a person who had a medical emergency and was located about 1,000 feet down creek from Cable Trail. Numerous other agencies from nearby counties also responded. Due to the patient’s condition and difficulty of extraction, the Tennessee Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team (TN-HART) was called to lift the patient out of the gorge.
