The Tennessee Department of Correction is now accepting applications from recognized Tennessee news organizations to serve as statutorily required witnesses for the scheduled execution of death row inmate Harold Wayne Nichols. Applications will be taken until 9am Monday, November 17th. Nichols pleaded guilty to First Degree Murder in the 1988 rape and murder of 21-year-old Karen Pulley at her home in Hamilton County. He was sentenced to death in 1990. The execution is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. (CST) on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
