Pikeville Police Officer Hailey Beaty, the city’s first certified female officer, helped to bring a new life into the world early Monday morning, November 10th (2025). At 3:38 AM, the Bledsoe County E-911 Center received a call about a woman in active labor. Officer Beaty arrived on scene at 3:43 AM and the department says that “with calm, courage, and compassion, Officer Beaty communicated with Communications Officer Toni Wilson and helped deliver a beautiful baby girl before EMS arrived. Thanks to their swift response and teamwork, both mother and baby were safely transported to a nearby hospital and are doing wonderfully!” (Photo courtesy Pikeville PD.)
