A Cumberland County man has been charged after he allegedly pulled a gun on his sister’s boyfriend. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched shortly before 10am Sunday (11/23/2025) to a residence on Plateau Road where they were told that 43-year-old William Charles Dimler, Jr. had been beating his mother’s dog for days. The boyfriend of Dimler’s sister confronted William about it and they began to argue. Dimler reportedly went into the house and came back brandishing a gun and said “go ahead, threaten me now.” Dimler then left the scene and authorities caught up with him at a church. According to reports, Dimler attempted to hide the weapon at the church and Deputies retrieved a loaded forty-caliber Ruger with 10 rounds in the magazine from a cabinet in the janitor’s closet. Dimler was charged with Aggravated Assault and taken into custody.
