The White County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it is the first law enforcement agency in Tennessee to deploy a Digital Siren system, which alerts drivers when they are near an active emergency response, vehicle pursuit, reckless or DUI drivers, road closures, traffic hazards and flooded roadways. The system will also alert for missing children or elderly individuals, and severe weather.
Alerts are delivered through the Digital Siren mobile app for Apple and Android devices, as well as automatically through popular navigation apps such as Google Maps. The app will announce the notifications through your phone or vehicle speakers.
