A Crossville woman faces multiple charges after she allegedly stole a Chevy Trailblazer at Cumberland Medical Center while a juvenile female was still inside. On Saturday, January 17 (2026), Crossville Police were dispatched to the hospital and discovered that the girl had been dragged about 4 feet as she tried to jump out of the vehicle. Before taking the Trailblazer, 46-year-old Kristy Leigh Jaynes reportedly set off a fire alarm at CMC and knocked a picture off a wall. During a pursuit, Police successfully deployed a spike strip on Miller Avenue, deflating the vehicle’s front driver side tire. City and County units were able to box the Chevy in on Lantana Road near Locust Grove Drive. Kristy Jaynes was taken into custody and charged with Theft of Property-Vehicle Theft, 2 counts of Reckless Endangerment, Evading Arrest and Vandalism.
