The Fairfield Glade Fire Department is in the process of forming a new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) division. The new division will establish an Emergency Medical Response (EMR) program.
The Fairfield Glade Fire Department EMR team will primarily respond to medical calls when a Cumberland County EMS ambulance is not immediately available to respond in a timely manner. In addition, the EMR team may be requested to respond alongside Cumberland County EMS when patient care may require additional resources. Fairfield Glade Fire Department EMR personnel will provide basic medical care until an ambulance arrives on scene to take over patient care.
The Fire Department is currently seeking new members who reside in or near Fairfield Glade to join the new EMS team. EMS members will not be required to be cross-trained as firefighters. Previous medical training is beneficial but not required. The fire department will provide training and equipment.
