Governor Bill Lee has announced the appointment of Crossville native Kyle Hixson to the Tennessee Supreme Court. Hixson, who currently serves as a Judge on the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals, will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice Holly Kirby. A proud alumnus of the University of Tennessee, Hixson earned both his bachelor’s degree and his Juris Doctor from the UT College of Law before rising through the state’s judicial ranks. “I am proud to announce the appointment of these highly qualified individuals and value the significant experience they will bring to their respective roles,” said Gov. Lee. “I appreciate their leadership and am confident they will serve Tennesseans with integrity.” The announcement also included the appointments of Steve Maroney to the Western Section of the Court of Appeals and Rachel Hurt to the Eastern Section of the Court of Appeals.
