Governor Bill Lee has signed an Executive Order to give Tennessee Department of Transportation crews the ability to clear non-state roads, helping local line workers restore power more quickly. This allows TDOT to work with local governments to complete necessary repair work from the severe winter weather that began on Friday, January 23, 2026.
Wednesday marked day 7 of TDOT’s around-the-clock statewide response to Winter Storm Fern. That included:
- 39,000 equipment hours
- 71,000 labor hours
- 61,000 tons of salt
- 1.4 million gallons of brine
- 510,000+ miles of roadway treated
- 2,300+ incidents managed
- Thousands of Trees Cleared
TDOT workers are still actively plowing, salting, and removing debris from state-owned roadways in Region 3’s 26 counties.
