A Morgan County jury has found 25-year-old Montarius Douglas guilty of Sexual Battery of a Correctional Officer.
According to District Attorney General Russell Johnson, the conviction stems from an incident on October 19, 2024, inside the Morgan County Correctional Complex. Institutional video reportedly showed that as a female correctional officer attempted to open a secured door, Douglas approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks without her consent.
Douglas is currently serving a 15-year sentence for Voluntary Manslaughter out of Gibson County. Records reflect he is still currently housed at the Morgan County Correctional Complex.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in Morgan County Criminal Court. The State will be asking that any sentenced imposed will run consecutive to his current sentence.
