The Tennessee Department of Safety and Tennessee Highway Patrol are warning Tennesseans about new scam text messages claiming recipients have an “unpaid traffic ticket” and threatening their driving privileges.
These messages are not real. The Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security will never send messages about overdue traffic fines, fees, payments or licenses suspensions. If you receive such a text message do not click on it. Do not pay it. Delete the text message and report it.
