Confirmed EF-1 Tornado Hit Giles County, TN Sunday Night

The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado traveled from Alabama into Giles County, Tennessee Sunday night (3/15/2026). The Giles County Emergency Management Agency reports the tornado produced maximum estimated winds of 105 miles per hour, leaving a damage path approximately 14.53 miles long and about 400 yards wide. The storm caused damage to several structures and resulted in numerous trees being uprooted or snapped across the affected area.

In Lawrence County, several homes were destroyed or damaged in Bonnertown as a possible tornado moved through the region Sunday night.  There were no immediate reports of injuries but some farm animals were killed.
