Two people from Cumberland County were recently recognized at the Governor’s Volunteer Stars Awards.  The GVSA recognizes Tennessee’s exceptional volunteers who are making a lasting impact in their communities through volunteering and community service.

Carolyn Jozwiak was selected as the adult honoree for Cumberland County. Carolyn has made Cumberland County her home for over 20 years, and has donated countless hours to many different organizations including the Cumberland County Master Gardeners, Downtown Crossville, Inc., the Crossville Depot, and the Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Crossville. Her favorite project is placing seasonal décor in the downtown area for the fall and Christmas seasons, and helping organize the annual Christmas tree lighting.

Seth Troglin, a student at Cumberland County High School, was selected as the youth honoree. Seth enjoys serving the community through his school’s chapter of Future Farmers of America. Seth has contributed hundreds of volunteer hours to agricultural education and community service projects. Seth’s most impactful project was organizing, promoting, and leading the Spread the Light livestock show.
