The Crossville Police Department arrested an Antioch, Tennessee man on various drug charges after noticing him nodding off in his vehicle at a convenience store on 127 North. A check of the tag on his Nissan Sentra came back to a Dodge Journey. Police say when they initiated blue lights, 45-year-old Joseph Anderson pulled out of the Circle K and headed east on I-40, reaching a speed of 100 mph. Anderson reportedly began throwing items out of the driver side window, with some of it hitting the officer’s patrol car. Other officers joined the pursuit and initiated a “box in technique” and were able to stop Anderson’s vehicle at the 328 eastbound mile marker. A search of the vehicle revealed digital scales, substances believed to be Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Testosterone and Marijuana, along with syringes and a tooter straw. Joseph Anderson was charged with Manufacture, Delivery, Sell or Possession of Meth and Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering With Evidence, and Evading Arrest.
