Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has signed a bill that makes spiking someone’s drink a Class D Felony punishable by up to 12 years in prison and a $5,000 fine. The bill, which goes into effect on July 1st, also requires bars and restaurants that serve alcohol to have drink-testing devices and provide free drink tests for customers who think their beverages have been tampered with.
