White County Sheriff Steve Page has confirmed that human remains were found Monday near Wildcat Falls.
In an update, Sheriff Page said his Department has worked with the Davidson County Medical Examiner and it has been determined there is no criminal or forensic concern.
State law requires that the State Archaeologist be notified to determine appropriate next steps.
The White County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Tennessee Division of Archaeology regarding the appropriate disposition of the remains.
