Cumberland County’s August 2026 jobless rate fell slightly to 4.1%, a decrease of 0.1% from July. It was also down 0.1% from the previous year.
Eighty-nine of Tennessee’s 95 counties reported unemployment rates of less than 5% for August, according to new data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD).
Sevier and Cheatham counties recorded the state’s lowest unemployment rates for August at 2.9%.
Hancock and Perry counties posted the state’s highest unemployment rates for the month at 5.5%. Pickett County followed at 5.2%.
