The Exchange Club of Lake Tansi proudly announces the 5th annual Crossville Field of Honor to be held Saturday, October 31st thru Friday, November 6th at Garrison Park located on Miller Ave (542 4th St). This wonderful event honors our veterans both living and departed. The site of 700 American Flag flying is a breathtaking sight for all to enjoy and to respect those who gave of themselves to serve our country, some paying the ultimate sacrifice. Each flag represents an individual veteran. A plaque with their name, branch of service and years served is attached.
This event raises funds that assist the various veteran organizations in Cumberland County. All funds raised remain in Cumberland County. This is made possible by the generous businesses of our community. Funds are also raised through the sales of the flags.
There will be a welcome tent on site with information, flag & military coin sales throughout the event. The welcome tent will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The field itself is open to visitors 24 hours daily. There will be an opening ceremony on Sunday, November 1st at 2 PM and will be held in the adjacent TAD Center building. A school night is planned for Thursday, November 5th at 6:30 PM and will be held in the adjacent TAD Center building. A brief closing ceremony will be held on Friday, November 6th at 4:00 PM.
