Cumberland County High School is honored to host two Medal of Honor recipients on September 7, 2022, at 9 a.m.
Medal of Honor recipients LtCol Harold Fritz, Vietnam and LtCol Will Swenson, Afghanistan will be the two honorary speakers for Cumberland County.
Cumberland County High School was selected as one of only 11 schools to receive this honor. The school was chosen for its commitment to character building and its relationships with veterans and other community groups.
These Modal of Honor recipients want to talk with students about character and values that are important in life and being a productive citizen. Upperclassman from CCHS and SMHS will be on hand for this presentation on Wednesday, along with several veterans’ groups and community leaders.
Nearly half of the 65 living Medal of Honor recipients and their families are attending the Medal of Honor society’s annual celebration this year which is being held in Knoxville.
