An FBI agent-involved shooting in Farragut, Tennessee has ended in the death of a man wanted in Maryland. The shooting happened around 6:30 pm Monday in a Gold’s Gym parking lot after authorities attempted to take Roy McGrath into custody. WVLT reports that McGrath was an ex-chief of staff to former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and a fugitive from Baltimore. McGrath was indicted in October 2021 and faced a maximum of 100 years in federal prison for charges that he illegally recorded former Governor Hogan and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the state government, according to CBS Baltimore. McGrath did not show up to his federal fraud trial in Baltimore and had reportedly been on the run since March 13. It was not immediately clear how or who shot McGrath. No agents were hurt.
